Turn ChatGPT answers into slides

ChatGPT is good at writing a presentation, but it can’t hand you slides. Presenter Cue closes the gap: ask ChatGPT with a prompt built for slides, paste the answer, present.

0:00 / 0:28 4 steps

Step by step: make a presentation with your AI

  1. Describe it. In the studio, choose New. Write the topic, who is listening, how many slides and the tone. Presenter Cue writes a detailed prompt from your answers.
  2. Ask your assistant. Tap ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. It opens in a new tab with the prompt ready; send it and wait for the answer. No credits, just the assistant you already use.
  3. Paste the answer. Back in the studio, paste the reply. Presenter Cue reads it, even with small mistakes, and draws every slide at once, with speaker notes.
  4. Edit and present. Change any word, add your own pictures, pick a theme, then press Present. Arrow keys, a clicker or a tap move the slides; with Pro, so does your phone.

ChatGPT to slides in four steps

  1. Open the studio and choose New. Describe your topic, audience and length.
  2. Tap ChatGPT. ChatGPT opens with the prompt filled in. Send it.
  3. Copy the answer. Use the copy button under ChatGPT’s reply, so you get the whole code block.
  4. Paste it into the studio. Your slides appear, laid out and themed, with speaker notes.

Why a special prompt matters

Ask ChatGPT for “a presentation about X” and you get a wall of text with “Slide 1”, “Slide 2” headings. Presenter Cue’s prompt asks for a fixed JSON shape with a layout for each slide: a title slide, an agenda, big numbers, a chart, a timeline, a closing slide. That’s what lets the studio draw real slides instead of pasting paragraphs into boxes.

If ChatGPT answers with a plain outline anyway, Presenter Cue still reads it: headings become slides and bullet points become points, and it tells you so.

Changing the deck with ChatGPT

Keep the ChatGPT conversation open. Ask for changes in plain words (“make it 8 slides”, “add a slide comparing the two options”, “simpler words for Year 7”) and ChatGPT sends the whole JSON again. Paste it in to get the new version; your old one stays in My decks.

Free or paid ChatGPT?

Both work. The prompt asks for a structured answer that any current ChatGPT model can follow, and decks are short, so you rarely hit a length limit. Paid plans tend to follow long instructions more consistently and write better speaker notes; on the free plan, if the answer drifts from the format, just ask ChatGPT to “send it again as one JSON code block in the same shape”.

The link that fills in the prompt

When you tap ChatGPT in the studio, Presenter Cue opens chatgpt.com with your prompt already in the message box, so you only press send. The prompt is also copied, in case you’re signed out and ChatGPT clears the box. Very long prompts, for example with a lot of pasted facts, are too long for a link; then the studio copies the prompt and opens ChatGPT for you to paste.

Copying the answer back

  • Use the copy button under ChatGPT’s answer, not a mouse selection. It copies the whole reply, including the code block.
  • Paste it into step 3 in the studio. A long paste turns into slides straight away.
  • If ChatGPT wrote some text before or after the code block, leave it: Presenter Cue finds the JSON inside.

Example follow-ups that work

After the first deck, you can keep the conversation going in ChatGPT and paste each new answer:

  • “Make slide 4 a chart comparing [A] and [B] and send the whole JSON again.”
  • “Add a slide after slide 2 with three customer quotes, using the quote layout.”
  • “Rewrite the notes so each is three sentences I can say in 20 seconds.”
  • “Translate the whole deck into Spanish, keeping the JSON shape.”

Privacy

Presenter Cue never sees your ChatGPT conversation. What you type into ChatGPT is covered by OpenAI’s terms and your own settings, so leave out anything confidential. The deck itself stays in your browser.

Questions

Can ChatGPT make PowerPoint slides directly?

ChatGPT can write slide content, and paid plans can sometimes create files, but results vary. Presenter Cue gives you designed slides from any ChatGPT plan, and you can download them as PDF, PNG or SVG.

ChatGPT cut off its answer. What now?

Paste what you have: Presenter Cue repairs a cut-off answer and keeps the complete slides. Or ask ChatGPT to “continue the JSON” and paste the full answer again.

Does Presenter Cue see my ChatGPT conversation?

No. You copy the answer yourself, and the slides are made in your browser.

Does ChatGPT need to be signed in?

Being signed in works best: the prompt arrives in the message box and stays there. If you are signed out, ChatGPT may clear the box; the prompt is also on your clipboard, so paste it back in.

Can ChatGPT add images to the slides?

ChatGPT can suggest what each picture should show if you tick Picture ideas. You add the actual images in the side panel, from your own files, so you control what is used.

Why not just ask ChatGPT for a PowerPoint file?

You can, but the file usually needs a lot of fixing. Asking for structured content and letting Presenter Cue lay it out gives consistent slides you can present straight away.

Does it work with custom GPTs?

Usually, if the GPT follows instructions. Paste the prompt into it as you would into ChatGPT, and copy the reply back the same way.
