Pitch deck prompt
Fill in the brackets with your company’s details. The more facts you give, the fewer placeholders you’ll have to replace.
Step by step: get better answers from your AI
- Give it facts. The more you put in the topic box (audience, numbers, the point you want to make), the less you have to fix. Ask for the length you actually have time for.
- Ask for changes in plain words. Keep the chat open: “make slide 4 shorter”, “add a slide on pricing”, “simpler words”. Ask it to send the whole JSON again, then paste it in.
- Cut off or messy? Paste it anyway. Presenter Cue repairs common mistakes (smart quotes, trailing commas, a cut-off end) and reads plain outlines too, so you rarely need to ask again.
The prompt
Create a pitch deck about: a seed pitch deck for [company], which [what it does] for [customer]. Our traction: [numbers]. Raising: [amount]. Team: [names and one line each] Details: - Audience: seed investors - Number of slides: 11 - Tone: persuasive […then the reply format and rules the studio reads. The button copies them too.]
What the format and rules part says, and why: the full prompt, explained.
Before you send it
- Give real numbers in the topic line. The assistant will otherwise invent example figures.
- Name your competitors. A fair comparison slide reads better than “no competition”.
- Say what the money is for: hires, months of runway, milestones.
After you paste it
Check every number, then rehearse in presenter view. A pitch is usually 10 minutes; the timer in presenter view shows where you are.
The topic line that gets the best pitch deck
The quality of a generated pitch deck depends almost entirely on what you put in the topic. Compare:
Weak
“A pitch deck for my startup.”
Strong
“A seed pitch deck for Northwind, which plans delivery routes for fleets of 2 to 50 vans. Traction: 38 paying fleets, $9,400 monthly revenue, growing 12% a month since March. Price: $29 per van per month. Raising: $1.5M for 18 months, to reach 2,000 vans. Team: Ana Ruiz (CEO, ran logistics at a regional courier), Tom Becker (CTO, built routing at a mapping company).”
The strong version gives the assistant the facts investors look for, so it builds the market, traction and ask slides around real numbers instead of placeholders.
Variations
- Demo day (3 minutes): set slides to 7 and add “for a three-minute demo day pitch” to the topic.
- Send-ahead deck: add “to be read without a presenter: each slide must make sense on its own”.
- Pre-seed with no revenue: replace traction with “Evidence: [interviews, waitlist size, pilot results]”.
- Grant or competition: name the judging criteria in the topic and ask for one slide per criterion.
Checking the result
- Every number on the market and traction slides is one you can source.
- The problem slide describes a customer, not your product.
- The ask says how much, what it buys and how long it lasts.
- The deck fits your time slot when rehearsed with the timer.
Questions
Should a pitch deck have speaker notes?
For presenting, yes: notes keep you on time. Remove them before you email the deck, or send the PDF, which has slides only.
Should I include my real revenue in the prompt?
Only figures you are comfortable sharing with the AI service you use. You can put rounded numbers or placeholders in the prompt and add exact figures in the studio afterwards.
Can I use this prompt for a non-profit or grant pitch?
Yes. Replace traction with impact (people served, outcomes) and the ask with the grant amount and what it funds. Name the funder’s criteria in the topic.
How do I make the deck sound like me?
Paste a paragraph you wrote about the company into the topic and add “match the tone of this paragraph”. Then edit the notes in your own words.
